4 Commitments

In December 2021, Forbes published Mark C. Perna’s article, “4 Commitments To Help You Become An Authentically Trusted Leader In 2022.”
Yes, the article was written for 2022, but the message may be more relevant than ever.
In a time when many organizations are still navigating change, uncertainty, burnout, disengagement, and fractured trust, leaders cannot afford to treat trust as a soft leadership concept. Trust is infrastructure. It is the bridge that connects where we are to where we need to go.
I was honored that Mark referenced my work and the TrustED® framework in this piece, especially around the four commitments required to rebuild and sustain authentic trust:
Commit to small and consistent actions
Commit to humility and listening
Commit to extending forgiveness and trust to others
Commit to completing the reparations of trust
Trusted leadership is not built through slogans, policies, or one-time gestures. It is built through repeated, credible, humble, and relational action over time.
For school leaders, ministry leaders, business leaders, and organizational teams, this Forbes article remains a timely reminder: when the bridge of trust has been damaged, leaders must step into the gap, not with performative words, but with faithful commitments.
Grateful to Mark C. Perna for continuing to elevate the importance of trusted leadership.
